The Giles Distinguished Lecture Series has been developed as a means of bringing preeminent scholars and personalities to the MSU campus. This lectureship series is organized by the Giles Distinguished Professors, and sponsored by the Office of the President. Intended to be an annual event, the lectureship was created in 2006, and is focused on bringing nationally and internationally recognized scientists, artists, and public officials to MSU so that students and faculty can learn and interact with some of the most prestigious individuals in their field.
The inaugural Giles Distinguished Lecture was presented by Dr. Michael Griffin, Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
